The local event held annually to both raise funds for the fight against cancer and show support by those fighting the disease will be held this weekend in Vandalia parks.
The Fayette County Relay for Life begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, when teams participating in the event begin setting up in Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street, and continues through 5 p.m. on Sunday.
This is the second year that the Relay for Life is being held in Rogier Park and other city parks along the Lincoln Loop Walking Trail, after being held for many years at Vandalia Community High School.
