Demo derby and ATV races coming to fair

The Montgomery County Fair Association will hold a demolition derby and ATV races this weekend at the fairgrounds in Butler.

The demo derby will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and the races will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The derby will feature modifieds, super modifieds, compacts, mid-size cars, vans, full-size trucks and mini trucks.

The top prizes are: $800 for modifieds, $500 for compacts and stock cars and a jackpot for all other classes.

Classes for the ATV races are 50CC-350CC for those aged 5-15. For those 16 and older, the classes are: two- and four-cycle machines with sizes of 350CC and higher, and a spin class.

The event also includes powder puff, side-by-side and utility with rock classes.

The prize money for the races will be jackpotted.

Regular racing at Fayette County on Friday

There will be regular racing at Fayette County Speedway on Friday.

The races will be the final points races of the season, and some special shows are hoped to be scheduled for later in the fall.
