Patterson-Pommer

Amanda Kay Patterson and Shaye Michael Pommer, both of Mulberry Grove, were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Hazlet State Park in Carlyle, with Haron Denton of Vandalia officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Janet and Ron Oglesby of Mulberry Grove, and Tom and Cindy Patterson of Blue Mound. She was given away by her mother and father.
She is the granddaughter of the late Jesse Brown, the late Angeline Morse and the late Margaret Patterson, all of Taylorville.
She chose Linda Grider of Festus, Mo., as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melinda Patterson of Greenville, Melissa Patterson of Gillette, Wyo., Nicole Pommer of Beckemeyer, Debbie Peters of Vandalia, Debra Rice of Nokomis, Amy Jo Larimer of Vandalia and Emmy Snider of Bingham.
The bride wore a satin side-draped A-line dress, with beaded metallic embroidered lace, a lace-up back and a split back with lace appliqués.
Her flowers were white roses and white lilies, accented with navy and fuscia hand-carved wooden roses and taffeta silver trimmed ribbon.
Her attendants wore two-tone navy blue and fuscia matte satin A-line gowns with beaded bands at the bust that continued to the back of the dress and criss-crossed, forming tails to the ground.
The attendants flowers were fuscia lilies and fuscia pink and navy blue roses with fuscia ribbons.
The flower girl was Abygale Patterson of Mulberry Grove, and she wore a dress that was identical to the bride’s.
The groom is the son of Mark and Connie Pommer of Beckemeyer. He is the grandson of Frank and Shirley Pommer of Beckemeyer, and the late Richard and Betty Hammer of Trenton.
He chose Tim Pommer of Beckemeyer as his best man. Groomsmen were Toby Dothager of Vandalia, Chris Knapp of Jameston, Kyle Heimann of Beckemeyer, Chad Heimann of Beckemeyer, Jared German of Nokomis, Eric Hampton of Greenville and Zac McCarty of Carlyle.
The groom wore a grey patterned vest and tie, and a fedora hat. The groomsmen and the ringbearer, Nicholas Patterson of Mulberry Grove, wore grey patterned vests with fuscia pink ties and fedora hats with name and skull appliqués.
The bride’s mother wore a floor-length navy blue satin dress. The groom’s mother wore a floor-length navy blue dress with a chiffon overlay. Each wore a fuscia lily and navy wrist corsage.
A reception was held at the VFW Home in Greenville, with decorations provided by Marsha’s in Greenville and Affordable Elegance in Mulberry Grove.
The reception included a Chinese food buffet and a three-tier wedding cake that featured a fountain and incorporated the wedding colors of navy blue and fuscia.
Chad Dane of Vandalia was the photographer, and Chris Cluck of Beckemeyer was the reception DJ.
The couple is planning a honeymoon trip next summer. They are residing in Mulberry Grove.
The bride earned her GED from Kaskaskia College in 2011.
She is a cashier at Buchheit in Greenville.
The groom graduated from Central Community High School in 2008 and from Kaskaskia College in 2011.
He is in the injection crew at Petco Petroleum in St. Elmo.
