Patoka ends first HS girls track season

ROBINSON – Patoka High School closed its first season of girls track without a state qualifier last Friday at the Robinson sectional.

Senior Paige Myers had the Lady Warriors' only top-10 finish after leaping 4 feet, 8 inches to place ninth in high jump.

Patoka's 4X200-meter relay team of Arizona Berning, Myers, Latosha Carbaugh and Brandi Isaak placed ninth, with a time of 2:03.43, and the 4X100-meter relay team of Berning, Myers, Karlie Nettier and Carbaugh, finished 10th, with a time of 0:58.67.

Isaak placed 12th in the triple jump (24 feet, 10 1/2 inches), Berning placed 13th in the long jump (13 feet, 1/2 inches) and Alyssa Pinkston placed 13th in the shot put (27 feet, 2 1/2 inches).

All three of them are freshmen.

Patoka's boys team will complete its season on Friday at the Newton sectional, where its members will compete strictly as individuals.
