Partners in Reading orientation is Sept. 30

October 4 begins the 16th year of Partners in Reading, a program through which adult volunteers read to elementary students over a lunch hour one day a week.
Sherry Schneider, Jill Jewel and Pam Baker are the coordinators of the program. Phyllis Rames and Baker started the program in 1995.
Studies have shown that children make more rapid progress in reading and language skills when they have been read to by adults.
