Ryan Paine will speak at the second Lenten Luncheon, on March 7, at First Church of God, from noon-1 p.m.

Paine, a layman speaker this year, is a personable, quiet-spoken and courteous young man, with a frequent and joy-filled smile. He is a member of First Baptist Church, where he sings in the church choir and is an active participant in the youth group.
He is an accomplished musician, singing and accompanying himself and others on the guitar.
Ryan said that he plays and sings mainly at church, but would consider playing for other occasions. He began playing the guitar when he was a junior in high school.
Paine, 20, is a student at Greenville College, with one more year to complete his degree in criminal justice.
A Bit of History
The son of John and Jackie Paine, he grew up in Mulberry Grove and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School. He has an older brother, Tim, and a sister, Tammie.
Still undecided about what he will do after graduation, he said, “I possibly might like to enter the ministry field somewhere, but I haven’t fully decided yet.
"I was saved during my freshman year at a Judgement House (presentation) at First Baptist Church. I’ve been attending First Baptist since I was a junior in high school, about five years,” Ryan said.
He has not attended previous Lenten Luncheons, but said he is looking forward to it.
The theme for the Lenten Luncheons this year is “Unity.”
