But Daniel Goggin said he will continue to fight for his right to run for state's attorney by filing an appeal.
State's Attorney Stephen Friedel, a Democrat, filed an objection to Goggin's right to run in the general election, alleging that Goggin filed his nominating paperwork too late.
After the electoral board ruled in Friedel's favor, Goggin said he will appeal the decision as allowed by law, taking the matter to the circuit court.
