At its banquet on Saturday at the Vandalia Moose Lodge, the OKAW Valley Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation presented a check for $670 to Brownstown Elementary School.
The donation is designated for the physical education program, providing continuing support to the schools’ participation in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Cindy Spillman of the National Wild Turkey Federation presented the check to Brownstown Elementary School physical education teacher Sandra Stine. Stine expressed her appreciation to the Longbeards Chapter for its support of NASP, enabling all of her students to be exposed to archery during their elementary P.E. experience. The first purchase will be additional arrows from BuckStop Archery in rural Brownstown. Joining Spillman and Stine for the photo are some of Stine’s former P.E. students who attended the Banquet. Pictured from left to right are Joshua Rolfingsmeier, Jacob Rolfingsmeier, Sarah Cripe, John Schaub (kneeling), Spillman, Stine, Aaron Miller (retiring President of the OKAW Valley Longbeards Chapter), Billy Johnson, Chalen Swick and Judy Rine.
