The Next Level: Graduated athlete roundup (Sept. 20)

Many athletes that spent their high school years in Fayette County have moved on to play for college or professional teams. Below are the athletes who recently made headlines.

Taylor Parrish • Sophomore • Franklin

•Sept. 15 – Parrish, a Vandalia grad, played in three sets in two games at St. Thomas More. She played one set in a 3-0 loss to Washington & Jefferson, and recorded one kill and two digs in two sets of a 3-0 loss to St. Thomas More. On the season, Franklin is 5-8.
•Sept. 13 – Parrish had one kill, three digs and a solo block in a 3-0 win at Earlham. She played in all three sets.
•Sept. 11 – Parrish had two kills and two digs in two sets of a 3-1 win against Spalding.

Amanda Walton • Senior • Bethel

•Sept. 14 – Walton, a Vandalia grad, played in eight sets over two games in Kentucky. In a 3-1 loss at Cumberlands, Walton had eight kills, and in a 3-1 win at Asbury, Walton had five kills. On the season, Bethel is 3-8, and Walton has recorded 15 kills.

Kinzie Neilson • Freshman • Lake Land

•Sept. 15 – Neilson, a South Central graduate, had 11 digs during a 3-1 win against Central College JV at the Marshalltown (Iowa) Invitational. Earlier in the day, she had 11 digs in a 3-0 win against the hosts. On the season, Lincoln Land is 13-5.
•Sept. 14 – Neilson had seven kills in a 3-0 win against North Iowa Area CC at Marshalltown.
•Sept. 12 – Neilson had 12 digs in a 3-0 win at Danville.

Katie Crain • Sophomore • Kaskaskia

•Crain, a South Central graduate, has helped lead Kaskaskia College's volleyball team to a 14-2 (3-0 Great Rivers Athletic Conference) start to the season.

Brooke Maxey • Sophomore • Kaskaskia

•Maxey, A St. Elmo graduate, has helped lead Kaskaskia College's volleyball team to a 14-2 (3-0 Great Rivers Athletic Conference) start to the season.
