Many athletes who spent their high school years in Fayette County have moved on to play for college or professional teams. Below are the athletes who recently made headlines.

Spencer Patton • Pitcher • Omaha Storm Chasers

•June 2 – Patton, a South Central graduate, picked up his third straight save by tossing the final three innings of a 7-1 win at Round Rock. The Kansas City Royals Triple-A prospect struck out four and allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk. On the season, he is 2-0, with a 1.27 earned-run average and 11 saves. He has struck out 31 batters over 20 appearances.
•May 29 – Patton earned a save by pitching the final inning of a 5-3 win at Oklahoma City.
•May 28 – Patton earned a save by pitching the last inning of a 2-0 win at Oklahoma City. He struck out a batter, and walked one.
