Many athletes who spent their high school years in Fayette County have moved on to play for college or professional teams. Below are the athletes who recently made headlines.

Marty Johnson • Junior • Illinois College • Basketball

•Jan. 14 – Johnson, a Vandaila graduate, played nine minutes off of the bench in an 87-81 win at Knox College. He had two points, one assist and one rebound in the game.
•Jan. 11 – Johnson played 10 minutes off of the bench during an 80-75 loss to Beloit College. He recorded one steal.

Quenten Austin • Sophomore • Carthage •Track

•Austin, a Vandalia graduate, and the Carthage College men's track team will host the Private College Indoor Invitational this weekend, kicking off the indoor season for the Red Men.

Sierah Ruffner • Freshman • Greenville • Track

•Ruffner, a Vandalia graduate, and the Greenville College women's track team will travel to Eastern Illinois University for the John Craft Indoor Meet on Saturday.

Abby Hill • Junior • Greenville • Track

•Hill, a St. Elmo graduate, and the Greenville College women's track team will travel to Eastern Illinois University for the John Craft Indoor Meet on Saturday.
