Josie Earnest • Coach • Vanderbilt University

•Jan. 6 – Earnest, a Vandalia graduate, earned one of three automatic spots on the Team USA women's bowling team after finishing in third place at the United States Bowling Congress' Team USA Trials on Friday. She averaged 207.29 in her seven games on the final day to secure her finishing position. The Vanderbilt University assistant bowling coach's total pin count over the four-day event was 5,974, which was within 100 pins of the first-place finisher. Earnest's daily finishes were: ninth on day one, 20th on day two, third on day three and second on day four.

Jessica Earnest • Junior • Vanderbilt University

•Jan. 6 – Earnest, a Vandalia grad, placed 12th at the United States Bowling Congress' Team USA Trials. She had a total pin count of 5,623 during the four-day event. Earnest's daily finishes were: 22nd on day one, 13th on day two, 18th on day three and 44th on day four. This Friday, Earnest and the rest of the Vanderbilt bowling team begin competition in the three-day Mid Winter Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark.

Isaac Grapperhaus • Junior • Illinois College

•Jan. 7 – Grapperhaus, a South Central graduate, started and scored six points for Illinois College during a 64-46 loss at Lake Forest College. He also had three rebounds and one steal during the game. The Blueboys are 3-7 on the season.

•Jan. 4 – Grapperhaus scored 15 points off the bench in an 83-73 loss to Ripon College. He also grabbed five rebounds during the game, including four on the offensive end.

Laura Hobbie • Junior • Greenville College

•Jan. 10 – Hobbie, a Vandalia graduate, started and had seven rebounds and six points in a 59-47 loss at Westminster. The Panthers are 4-8 on the season.

•Jan. 7 – Hobbie started and scored 13 points for Greenville during a 71-49 win against Blackburn College. Also during the game, Hobbie had five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Ann Githinji • Senior • Greenville College

•Jan. 10 – Githinji, a South Central graduate, grabbed two rebounds off the bench during a 59-47 loss at Westminster. The Panthers are 4-8 on the season.

•Jan. 7 – Githinji scored five points off the bench during a 71-49 win against Blackburn College. She also added two rebounds, two assists and a steal during the game.
