Habitat Store to collect donations

Beginning on Aug. 1, the Habitat Store, located at 418 W. Gallatin St. in Vandalia, will begin accepting donations of clean clothing, jewelry, household items, small appliances, small pieces of furniture and knick-knacks.
All profits from the store, formerly known as Nice Twice, will benefit Fayette County Habitat for Humanity, with all funds staying in the county.
Donations will be accepted at the door in the alley from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Tools for School dates, times set

Tools for School, a program that provides free school supplies for Fayette County students in need, will be in operation at First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia on the following dates and times:
• Wednesday, Aug. 10 – 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
•Thursday, Aug. 11 – 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 12 – 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 13 – 9 a.m.-noon.
The program is open to all students in need in grades K-12.
Those picking up supplies are asked to used the north door of the church, which is located at 1221 W. Fillmore St. The church is handicapped accessible.
All students must be accompanied by a parent or other adult when picking supplies.
