Van driver ticketed for suspended license
The New Jersey man who was driving the van that crashed last Monday on Interstate 70, west of Vandalia, has been ticketed by the Illinois State Police for driving while his license is suspended.
The ticket was issued to Malcolm Purnell, 45, of Paterson, N.J.
Fayette County State’s Attorney Joshua Morrison said on Tuesday that the investigation into the accident is continuing. Those involved in the investigation include the state police and Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen.
