St. Peter, rural Farina get 911 addresses
Fayette County E911 Coordinator Kevin Jenne announced on Tuesday that residents of St. Peter ZIP Code 62880 and rural Farina residences in the 62838 ZIP Code will be receiving letters with their new, official 911 addresses this week.
The new addresses will replace the rural route box numbers that residents are currently using.
Residents of those areas who do not receive letters by this Friday, and those wanting more information, may call Jenne at 618-732-3911 or contact him by e-mail at fayettecountyil911@gmail.com.
Relay for Life event participants sought
Organizers of an event to benefit Fayette County Relay for Life are looking for participants to the event.
Local crafters, woodworkers, jewelry makers, artists, quilters, pottery makers, toy collectors and makers of various handmade items are being invited to set up booths for the event, to be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Vandalia Eagles Club.
The event will include various concessions, a 50/50 drawing and silent auction.
