Osborne to give concert on Oct. 24

Vandalia native Summer Osborne, who has been pursuing a career in music for the past decade, will present a concert at the Vandalia Moose Lodge on Sunday, Oct. 24.
 The event, which runs from 5-8 p.m., will feature Osborne on the guitar and piano, as well as Shannon Curtis, a pianist from Los Angeles.
Though she’s based in St. Louis, Osborne has played throughout the Midwest and on the East Coast. She’s now recorded five CDs.
In addition to her vocal and instrumental talents, Osborne has written many of her own songs.
Admission to the concert on the 24th is $10 for adults. Children age 10 and under are free.

Band Boosters’ dinner is Oct. 22

The Vandalia Band Boosters will hold their annual chili supper from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, at Vandalia Junior High School.
The cost is $6 per person, and the meal includes chili, sandwich, drink and dessert, or two hot dogs, potato chips, drink and dessert. Ala carte and carry-outs will be available.
