In the near future, juveniles who commit criminal offenses in Fayette County will sentenced in a new way – they will truly be judged by their peers.
The Fayette County Probation Office recently announced that it would begin operating a youth court.
The office made the announcement as it began seeking local youth who will help the court function.
Applications are being accepted from youths ages 14-17 who will serve in the roles of prosecuting and defense attorneys, clerk, bailiff and jurors.
