National Day of Prayer activities set

-A A +A

Under the theme of "Many Voices United in Prayer," the Vandalia Ministerial Alliance will host a series of prayer meetings in preparation for a breakfast on the National Day of Prayer.
That breakfast will be held on Thursday, May 1, at 7 a.m. at the Crawford-Hale American Legion Home in Vandalia. Speaker for the event will be Staci Carroll, a member of First United Methodist Church in Vandalia.
No advanced tickets will be sold this year, and participants are asked to arrive by 6:45 a.m. so the program can be completed in time for people to get to work by 8 a.m.
Leading up to the National Day of Prayer, four other events are planned. Those are:
Sunday, April 27, 6-7 p.m. – A community-wide prayer service at First Baptist Church.
Monday, April 28, 7:45-8 a.m. – Prayer at the Chamber of Commerce office.
Tuesday, April 29, 7:45-8 a.m. – Prayer at Vandalia High School gymnasium.
Wednesday, April 30, 7:45-8 a.m. – Prayer at Fayette County Courthouse.
In addition to these events, the Association of Christian Truckers ministry (located at the Brownstown exit on Interstate 70) will be open for prayer each day that week from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
