Museum has two exhibits in June

The special Fayette County Museum exhibits for June are wooden tools and wedding memories.
In May, the museum welcomed 390 visitors. Group tours included Vandalia seventh grade, Vandalia Junior High special education, Ramsey Grade School second grade, Altamont Lutheran second grade, Mrs. Culbertson’s Vandalia fourth grade, Kinmundy Elementary third grade, Effingham Sacred Heart third grade and Herrick Elementary fourth, fifth and sixth grades.
The gallery will be open June 18-26 for art shows. Amateur artists, photographers and youth have entered the Town & Country Art Show from Fayette, Clinton, Marion, Effingham, Shelby, Montgomery, Bond and Madison counties.
Professional artists from this area also are showing their work during this time.
The unique historic oil cloth ceiling in the gallery may be viewed at this time.
The museum is located at 301 W. Main St., Vandalia. Hours are 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. on Sundays.
