More info on the blackberry patch conflict

-A A +A

Fayette County History

By Linda Hanabarger

Many years ago, I read a story in "Fayette Facts" about two Fayette County women who got into a fight over a blackberry patch. It ended when one of the women pushed the other into an open well.
From what I remembered, the local justice of the peace held court, fined the woman who did the pushing and then paid the fine for her.
I have searched for this story off and on during the past several years, and finally gave up, figuring that I would stumble across it again one day.
