Amanda McDowell and Chad Elam have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The future bride is the daughter of Lynn and Shelley McDowell of Vandalia; and the granddaughter of Kevin and Donna Alteneaumer of Central City, and Betty McDowell of Vandalia and the late James McDowell.
A 2010 graduate of Vandalia Community High School, she is employed at McDowell’s Service and is the owner/operator of Beautiful Chaos Dance Center in Vandalia.
The future groom is the son of Kevin and Liz Elam of Vandalia; and the grandson of Ross and Carolyn Kershaw of Vandalia, and the late Floyd and Doris Elam.
A 2008 graduate of Vandalia Community High School, he is an aviation electrician’s mate second class in the Navy, currently on deployment in Bahrain.
The couple are planning a July 27 outdoor wedding in Central City.
