McDowell – 50 years

Ronnie and Janet McDowell of Vandalia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 30, 2010.
The couple were married on July 30, 1960, at Woburn Baptist Church by the late Rev. Dale Bennett, uncle of the groom. Their attendants were the late Joe and Sue Kistler.
Janet is the daughter of the late Donald and Beatrice Hunter Cooper.
Ronnie is the son of the late Glenn “Pat” McDowell and Julia Bennett McDowell.
They have three children:  Kim and her husband Bill Frederick of Raleigh, N.C., Todd and his wife Christy McDowell and Jana and her husband Todd Shafer, all of Vandalia.
They have five grandchildren: Lyndsay and her husband Billy Doehring, Adam and Tessa Shafer, Gage and Jake McDowell.
They have two great-grandchildren: Macy Largent and Zayden Doehring; and two great-stepgrandchildren, Jaeda and Aleigh Doehring.
