Matthew Brian Sefton of Brownstown has received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado.

Sefton, a 2013 graduate of Brownstown High School, will be a member of the academy’s class of 2018.
The son of Steve and Donell Sefton, he is currently a student at Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, Va.
A Falcon Scholar post-graduate student, Sefton was named to the president’s list for the second quarter of this school year.
Randolph-Macon Academy is a college-preparatory, coeducational boarding school that offers the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
He was notified of his appointment by Carolyn A.M. Benyshek, director of admissions, who said that only about 1,200 of the academy’s 9,700 applicants are accepted.
