It seems that every year that passes it becomes harder to distinguish between the two parties. Yes, there is good rhetoric by both sides, but after the dust settles, it seems that nothing changes and our nation continually gets worse. All this time, the electorate seems content to blame the opposing side, starting it all over again – rhetoric, blame and poor results. It seems that we don’t have a good option to vote for; always voting for the lesser evil.
Again, more than ever, this seems to be the case, from Romney’s flip-flopping problems to Newt’s baggage and Washington-insider ways. Maybe Santorum is the lesser of the evils? In the last debate, he admitted that he voted for something that was against his convictions and did what his party leaders told him to do because politics is a team sport. Getting along with party leaders is more important than remaining true to your convictions?
What we need to do is return to the principles found in the Constitution. Among these principles are sound money, a severely limited role for the federal government, personal responsibility and a foreign policy that grants only what the Constitution allows.
We also need a leader with a track record of abiding by these principles, even when that fidelity cost him personally. We need a commander-in-chief who has actually worn a military uniform. We need someone with the integrity to not participate in the lavish congressional pension plan, on principle, even though he is eligible. We need someone with enough courage to stand up to the establishment and speak truth to people in power.
Ron Paul has all these attributes.
Who else is running that would actually change anything? Who else would make real cuts in the budget, not just slow the rate of increase? Who else has the integrity and courage to enforce the Constitution? All of the other candidates on both sides of the aisle are the status quo, and the last time I checked that wasn’t working very well. Since all major media have their own motives, please Google or YouTube “Ron Paul” and listen to full speeches and actually see what the liberty movement is all about. Also, go to ronpaul2012.com.
I will close with a quote from Dr. Paul:
“The time has come to act. May future generations look back on our work and say that these were men and women who, in a moment of great crisis, stood up to the politicians, the opinion molders and the establishment, and saved their country.”
