Lady Vandals fall to Hillsboro

The Lady Vandals held an early advantage, but Hillsboro’s Shelby Gray stole the show in the second half of a 58-40 loss to Hillsboro on Thursday.

Gray had a game-high 29 points for the Lady Toppers, including all of their second-quarter points.

The win also marked the 200th in the career of Hillsboro coach Brett Tuetken.

Senior Amber Bruno had 13 points to lead Vandalia, and junior Morgan Cripe had a career-high 12 rebounds.

The Lady Vandals fall to 2-5 (0-3 South Central Conference) with the loss, and travel to Neoga for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday.
