Several area athletes helped Kaskaskia College to win the All Sports Award from the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.
The award is based on the overall conference finish of the six conference sports – volleyball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball.
Most of Kaskaskia College’s team had strong showings in the GRAC, as volleyball and women’s basketball finished first, baseball and men’s golf finished second, softball finished fifth, and men’s basketball finished eighth.
Among the season highlights were the baseball team making the College World Series for the first time in school history. South Central graduate Colby Bushue was a member of the team.
The women’s volleyball team had the best season in school’s history, and were led by St. Elmo graduate Brooke Maxey, and South Central graduate Katie Crain was also on the team.
