Beekeeping course
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a beginning beekeeping course at the Vandalia Center on Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The registration number is COED 8033 VA04W.
The beekeeping series continues with “Keeping Healthy Bees.” This course will explore the impact of illness to the colony and how to keep your bees healthy and on their own six feet.
The cost for this course is $15; students over 60 may register at no cost.  

Computer virus protection course

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a computer virus protection course at the Vandalia Center on Tuesdays, March 24-April 10, from 3:30-6 p.m.
The registration number is LLI 7028 VA01D.
Computers may seem sophisticated and advanced, but Windows-based PCs need a lot of care to keep them safely functioning and to avoid a host of threats.
Students will learn about updating anti-virus programs, configuring them for maximum protection and free anti-virus programs, and become aware of the limitations of anti-virus programs. Students will also become aware of worms, software bugs, Malware and more.
The course fee is $48; students over 60 may register at no cost.

Computer college-part II course
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer computer college-part II course at the Vandalia Center on Thursdays, March 15-April 19, from 1-4 p.m.
The registration number is LLI 7021 VA01D.
This hands-on computer course gives computer users the opportunity to build on the learning experience from computer college-part I.
Students will learn additional components and parts of a computer. Computer terms, as well as how to create, print and save documents, and personalize a desktop, will be discussed.
Students will become more familiar with MS Windows applications. Additional Internet topics will be presented and discussed.
The cost for this course is $96; students over 60 may register at no cost.

Intermediate digital photography course
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer an intermediate digital photography class at the Vandalia Center on Monday and Tuesday, April 2-3, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number is COED 5428 VA02E.
Get to know your digital camera a little better. Learn to take superior images. You will learn techniques to improve your action, portrait, scenic, travel, outdoor, and wildlife portraits.
This is an intermediate class – digital camera experience is required. Take your digital camera to class.
The cost for students under 60 is $20; students over 60 may register at no cost.

Online auction class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a “How to Buy and Sell on eBay” course at the Vandalia Center on Wednesdays, April 4, 11 and 18, from 6:30-9 p.m.
The registration number is LLI 7040 VA01E.
Students will learn to turn items from their attics and basements into cash using online auction sites. This fun, informative, hands-on computer class teaches how to put unwanted items up for sale on eBay.
This course is designed for the beginner online auctioneer. The instructor will demonstrate how to post items on eBay. Internet experience is required to take this course.
The cost for students $48; students over the age of 60 may register at no cost.

KC book fair
The Kaskaskia College’s Reading Link will host a book fair in the KC Student Center on Tuesday, March 27, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  
All books for purchase are 70 percent of the retail price, and include 350 new titles every season. Books include adult and children best sellers, children’s educational, cookbooks, early learning, general interest, religion, stationery, gifts, and bath and body products.
All proceeds from the book fair will assist the Reading Link.
