Intro to the Internet class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education an introduction to the Internet class at the Vandalia Center on Saturdays, April 14 and 21, from 8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The registration number is LLI 7025 VA01W.
This basic class is designed to familiarize one with how to use e-mail, establishing free e-mail accounts and how to use the Internet for learning, shopping and business.
The cost for this course is $48; students over 60 may register at no cost.
Students may register for classes through the Vandalia Campus by calling 283-1780 or the Office of Continuing/Community Education at Kaskaskia College at 545-3255.
All students must pre-register for this class.

Baby sign language courses
The Vandalia Campus will offer an extensive series of sign language classes for both children and their caregivers.
These classes are designed for both hearing-impaired and non-hearing-impaired children.
The classes are offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings for both 2- and 3-year-olds.  The topics include eat and drink, clothing, play, mom and dad, pets, nice words and bedtime.
This course is open to all children and caregivers.
The cost for each four-session block is $20 per caregiver.  
Each child is required to have an adult caregiver.
There is no cost for children.  
• Class 13:  Friends and Feelings – Tuesday, April 10, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
• Class 14:  Opposites – Thursday, April 12, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
• Class 15:  That Tastes Good – Tuesday, April 17, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
• Class 16:  Toy Box – Thursday, April 19, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
Registration numbers for the classes are COED 5414 VA07D (age 2) and COED 5414 VA08D (age 3).

New student orientation
Kaskaskia College is holding new student orientation for students who will be beginning classes during the summer 2012 semester.
The event will be on Friday, April 13, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Campus.
The program focuses on providing participants with information about college services, making the transition into college an easy process.
All participants and students are encouraged to participate. Reservations are requested for attendance. Individuals may sign up online at www.kaskaskia.edu/NSO.

Guests of students are welcome.

Cake decorating class

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a cake decorating” class at the Vandalia Center on Saturday, April 14, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The registration number is COED 5439 VA02W.
Students will learn the basics of cake decorating. They will not only learn how to make icing, but will learn the importance of icing consistency.
Students can expect to learn how to make decorative icing flowers, figure piping and lattice work. The making of novelty and specialty cakes will also be addressed.
The cost for students under 60 is $45; students over 60 may register for supply cost of $25.
Students may register through the Vandalia Campus by calling 283-1780 or the Office of Continuing/Community Education at Kaskaskia College at 545-3255.  Space is limited, so please register early.  All students must pre-register for this class.

Organ/tissue donation registration

Kaskaskia College will hold organ/tissue donation registration through this Thursday at the KC Main Campus and all education centers.
The college’s goal is to get 250 new organ/tissue donors registered.
April is National Donate Life Month and Organ/Tissue Donation Month.
As part of the awareness campaign, KC is working to encourage students and faculty to join the Illinois Secretary of State’s Donor Registry.  
The registration is held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
