Queen bees class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will present a queen bees class at the Vandalia Campus on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 8 a.m.-noon. The registration number for the class is COED-8039-VA01W.
Third in the series is queen bee rearing, which will teach students how to properly raise and care for queen bees in their hives. Healthy queens are necessary to grow the population and maintain a productive and functioning hive. This course will teach keepers how to properly rear a prolific, quality queen.
The course fee is $20; students over 60 may register at no cost.

Computer College-Part 2 class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will present a Computer College-Part 2 class at the Vandalia Campus on Thursdays, Oct. 15-Nov. 19, from 2-4:30 p.m. The registration number for the class is LLI-7021-VA01D.
This hands-on computer course gives computer users the opportunity to build on the learning experience from Computer College I. Students will learn additional components and parts of a computer. Computer terms, as well as how to create, print and save documents, and personalize the desktop, will be discussed. Students will become more familiar with MS Windows applications. Additional Internet topics will be presented and discussed.

‘Letters, Labels and
Postcards’ class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will offer a “Letters, Labels and Postcards” class at the Vandalia Campus on Tuesdays, Nov. 3-17, from 5:30-8 p.m. The registration number for the class is LLI-7022-VA01E.
Students will learn how to use the powerful merge feature in Word to create letters, labels, envelopes and postcards. They will become familiar with using the merge wizards, as well as setting up the merge function, fonts, formats and graphics to customize your labels, envelopes and postcards. You will also learn how to create your own data source/address book or use an existing one. Some computer experience is required to enroll in this course. The cost is $65.50, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

Watercoloring class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will offer a watercoloring class at the Vandalia Campus on Thursdays, Nov. 5-19, 6-8 p.m. The registration number for the class is COED-6009-VA01E.
Students will learn to create paintings using watercolors. This class requires no prior painting or drawing experience. Students will learn simple drawing and painting techniques, such as shading and blendings with easy-to-use watercolors. Watercolors offer an excellent transition from drawing to painting in a short amount of time.
The cost is $30, but students over 60 may register at no cost. Students will be given a supply list prior to the start of this class.

Zumba Gold class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will offer a Zumba Gold class through the Vandalia Campus on Tuesdays, Nov. 3-Dec. 15, from 8-9 a.m. The registration number for the class is COED 8057-VA02D.
Zumba Gold targets the largest-growing segment of the population: baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements of Zumba – the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. It’s a dance-fitness class that feels friendly and, most of all, fun.
This course will be held at the Family YMCA of Fayette County, 710 N. Rock Island Ave. in Vandalia. The cost is $35, but it’s free for students over 60.

Crochet class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will present a crochet class at the Vandalia Campus on Wednesdays, Oct. 21-Nov. 4, from 6-8 p.m. The registration number for the class is LLI-7106-VA01E.
In this introduction to crochet, students will learn about choosing yarn, needle sizes, the proper way to hold needles, and various stitches. Different patterns and color combinations will also be explored. Students will be given a supply list prior to the first class meeting. The cost is $30, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

‘Extreme Couponing’ class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will present an “Extreme Couponing” class at the Vandalia Campus on Saturday, Oct. 24, 9 a.m.-noon. The registration number for the class is COED-8058-VA01W.
This course will educate students on how to find coupons and use them for savings. Students will receive knowledge of the different types of coupons, including newspaper inserts, online coupons, and digital coupons, and how to find coupons sales. Upon the completion of the course, students will be able to successfully save money at the grocery store, restaurants, retail stores, and online shopping. The cost is $15, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

“Keeping Healthy Bees’ class
