Beginning beekeeping class
The Kaskaskia College Department of Industrial and Continuing Education will hold a beginning beekeeping class throughout the KC District in August.  The course will be live at the KC Vandalia Campus and shown simultaneously at the Nashville, Salem and Trenton Education Centers.
This class will meet on Monday, Aug. 7, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and will be an introductory course designed to acquaint the students with basic beekeeping.
It will provide information on how to enter this hobby and eventually develop it into a satisfying and possibly profitable endeavor. Students will be given a brief history and overview of the subject, along with the equipment and management practices necessary to be successful.
The cost is $17.
Students may register for this class through the Department of Industrial and Continuing Education at Kaskaskia College at 545-3255. Space is limited, and all students must preregister for this class.

Fall registration
Registration for classes at the KC Vandalia Campus for the 2017 fall semester is now in progress.
The fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. 14.
Classes offered in Vandalia include Accounting Principles, Financial Accounting, Introduction to Art, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to Business, Principles and Practices of Early Childhood Education, Intro to Child Development, Health, Safety and Nutrition of the Young Child, Intro to Educational Practice, Intro to College Composition, English Composition 101 and 102, History of the United States 103, History of Diversities, First Aid, Court Procedure and Evidence, Introduction to Literature, Film and Literature, Basic Mathematics, Fundamentals of Math I and II, Elementary Algebra, Elementary Plane Geometry, Intermediate Algebra, Intro to Contemporary Math, General Statistics, Medical Terminology, Nurse Assistant, American Government, Life Span Growth and Development, Psychology, Child Psychology, Critical Reading/Study Skills, Sociology and Fundamentals of Speech.
