Charcoal drawing class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a charcoal drawing class at the Vandalia Campus on Thursdays, Oct. 11-25, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number is COED 7003 VA01E.
Students will learn how to use charcoals for rendering subjects such as still lifes and landscapes; and focus on color, harmony and composition.
A list of supplies will be furnished to students. The cost is $25; students over 60 may register at no cost.

‘Memoir-Life Story’ class
The Kaskaskia College Continuing/Community Education Department will offer a “Memoir-Life Story” class at the Vandalia Campus on Monday evenings, Oct. 22-Nov. 12, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number for this class is LLI 7607 VA02E.
Writing the story of your life can heal, inspire and entertain; and only you can do it. This course leads students quickly through the process from idea to manuscript, helping them write like a pro. Give credence to your life by your notes.
The cost is $40; students over 60 may register at no cost.

Digital photography class
The Kaskaskia College Continuing/Community Education Department will offer a digital photography course at the Vandalia Campus on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 22-23, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number is COED 5428 VA01E.
Get to know your digital camera and learn to take superior images. You will learn techniques to improve your action, portrait, scenic, travel, outdoor and wildlife portraits.
Students are to take their digital cameras to class.
This class is held at SE Photographie, located at 900 W. Gallatin St. in Vandalia.
The cost for students is $20; students over 60 may register at no cost.

CPR class
Kaskaskia College will be offering a CPR class at the Kaskaskia College Vandalia Campus this Friday.
The goal of the basic life support (BLS) course is to train participants to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
This course is designed to prepare healthcare professionals to know how to perform CPR in both in-and out-of-hospital settings.
This course trains participants to promptly recognize cardiac arrest, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), as part of a team and individually.
This course also teaches how to relieve choking. The course includes adult, child and infant rescue techniques.
The class will be held from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. this Friday.
Participants will become certified in adult CPR and will earn a CPR card. The cost $52.

CNA classes
Kaskaskia College still has slots available for the eight-week certified nursing assistant course starting on Oct. 15 and running through Dec. 14.
Classes will meet at the Vandalia Campus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
All are full-day classes, and starting times may vary.

CNA training prepares students to take the state examination, and students must complete CNA training before being accepted into the College’s LPN or ADN programs.
