Step aerobics class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a step aerobics class at the Fayette County YMCA in Vandalia on Thursdays, May 2-30, from 5-6 p.m.
The registration number for the class is COED 5410 VA01E.
This class will be a low-impact cardio workout using an adjustable step bench for a total body workout.
The cost for this course is $25, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

Jump Start Program
Kaskaskia College is currently accepting applications for the Jump Start Program for high school students for the summer and fall 2013 semesters.
The Jump Start program allows high school students to receive a 50-percent reduction in tuition for up to four credit hours. This is an opportunity for high school students to get a “jump start” on their college education while still in high school and benefit from a cost savings.
High school students can obtain a Jump Start application through their high school guidance office, or by contacting Amy Troutt at 545-3048 or atroutt@kaskaskia.edu.
All high school students attending a high school within the Kaskaskia College district are eligible to participate in the program.
Spring class offerings can be viewed by visiting the website at: www.kaskaskia.edu/AboutKC/ClassSchedule. A variety of evening, weekend and online sections are available.
Students are responsible for the remaining half of the tuition costs, fees and text books.

Self-defense class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will present a self-defense class at the Fayette County YMCA in Vandalia on Saturday, April 27, from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
The registration number is COED 8073 VA01W.
This course includes simple and easy self-defense moves, including techniques and tips to help increase personal safety in any situation.
Participants may wear comfortable clothing. This course is open to all ages.
The cost is $10, but students over 60 may register at no cost.
Students may register through the Vandalia Campus by calling 283-1780 or the Office of Continuing/Community Education at Kaskaskia College at 545-3255.  Space is limited, so please register early.  All students must pre-register for this class.

‘Letters, Labels and Postcards’
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a “Letters, Labels and Postcards” class at the Vandalia Campus on Saturdays, May 4, 11 and 18, from 9-11:30 a.m.
The registration number is LLI 7022 VA01W.
Students will learn how to use the powerful merge feature in Word to create letters, labels, envelopes and postcards.
Participants will become familiar with using merge wizards, as well as setting up the merge function, fonts, formats and graphics to customize labels, envelopes and postcards.
They will also learn how to create their own data source/address book or use an existing one. Some computer experience is required to enroll in this course.
The cost for this course is $52, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

Silk floral arrangement class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a silk floral arrangement class at the Vandalia Campus on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The registration number is COED 5434 VA01W.
Students will learn the art of silk flower arranging, and to choose colors, vases and fillers to create beautiful designs.
The cost for this course is $10, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

Collaborative music concert
The Kaskaskia College choral and instrumental programs will combine to bring a collaborative concert on Thursday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Jane Knight Auditorium.
The concert will feature the concert choir, community chorale, and KC Blues, under the direction of Dr. Sarah Graham, and the KC percussion ensemble under the direction of Professor Cliff Jourdan.
The concert is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served afterward.
