Digital photography
The Kaskaskia College Continuing/Community Education Department will offer a digital photography course at the Vandalia Campus on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Dec. 9-10, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number for this class is COED 5428 VA02E.
Students will get to know their digital cameras and learn to take superior images. Students will also learn techniques to improve their action, portrait, scenic, travel, outdoor and wildlife portraits.
Students are to take their digital cameras to the class.
The cost $20, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

Introduction to the Internet
The Kaskaskia College Continuing/Community Education Department will offer an introduction to the Internet course at the Vandalia Campus on Tuesdays, Dec. 3 and 10, and Thursday, Dec. 5, from 9-11:30 a.m.
The registration number for this class is LLI 7025 VA01D.
This basic class is designed to familiarize one with how to use email, learn about establishing free email accounts and learn how to use the Internet for learning, shopping and business.
The cost for this course is $55.50, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

Student orientation dates set
Kaskaskia College invites new students to attend new student orientation at the Vandalia Campus.
The free program is designed to introduce students to information and contacts important for a successful start of their college experience.
Information about services, activities and classroom success strategies will be included. Students will be given resources they will be able to use throughout their time at KC.  
Students who attend this program traditionally perform better in college than those who do not attend.
The Kaskaskia College Vandalia Campus new student orientation events will be on Nov.13, Dec. 6 and Jan 8, all from 10-11:30 a.m.  
Reservations are requested for all those who will attend, including guests. Individuals can register through the Vandalia Campus, the admissions office, academic advising or online at www.kaskaskia.edu/nso.

LPN applications taken
Kaskaskia College is accepting applications for those interested vin entering the college’s Licensed Practical Nursing Program at KC’s Vandalia Campus through Dec. 13.
This is for the spring semester only.
The Kaskaskia College LPN program is a three-semester program leading to a certificate. The graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination.
Graduates who pass the exam may apply to become licensed practical nurses, who work in a variety of healthcare settings, giving direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
