Utah concealed carry course
Kaskaskia College will offer a Utah concealed carry course on Saturday, June 29, from 8 a.m.-noon, at the KC Vandalia Campus.
The Utah CFP permit training class takes four hours. Firing of a firearm is not required to obtain the non-resident Utah concealed firearm permit. The permit is valid for five years, and training is not required for renewal.
Utah concealed firearm permit is recognized by 30 states for Illinois residents – Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington State, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
The Utah permit is not valid for concealed carry in Illinois.
Firearm Safety Group will provide the training, and it will include all the training materials, photos and fingerprint cards. A fingerprint technician will be is present at the class and will be charging a $10 fee. This is required to submit a non-resident application.
The class fee is $100. Pre-registration and payment is required and must be received by June 26. Space is limited per class; specify a session when registering.

The class cost does not include the $51 registration fee to the state of Utah.

Food service sanitation courses
Kaskaskia College will offer two food service courses at the Vandalia Campus this summer.
The food service sanitation certification course will be held on Saturdays, June 15 and 22, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and the registration number for the class is COOK 074 TV02W.
This course is designed to provide the student with vital sanitary information applying to food service management.
Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the food sanitation certification examination administered by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The focus of the course will be on sanitation, health, microbiology, personal hygiene, safe food handling, management responsibilities and the sanitation regulations for the state of Illinois.  
A food service sanitation refresher class will be held Saturday, June 15, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and the registration number is COOK 075 TV02W.
This course is intended to prepare and meet the needs of recertification of the food service managers sanitation certification. This course will address all the requirements set by the Illinois Department of Health.
Students will gain knowledge in current rules and regulations. The course will cover food temperatures,
cross-contamination, cleaning and sanitizing and many other important components of food safety.

Community Engagement at Vandalia Campus
Dr. Jim Underwood, president of Kaskaskia College, and Bill Hawley, chairman of the KC Board of Trustees, invite the public to join them for a “Community Engagement” at the Vandalia Campus on Monday, June 17.
The event is being held for Underwood and Hawley to meet with area residents to provide input and discuss the operations of Kaskaskia College.
