‘Feeding Your Family for Less’
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education, in partnership with the University of Illinois Extension, will present the class “More Bang for Your Buck: Feeding Your Family for Less” through the KC Vandalia Campus.
The class will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the U of I Extension office at 118 N Sixth St. in Vandalia.

Are you struggling with high food prices? Are you throwing away too much spoiled food? Would you like to learn how to save money and feed your family well?
Keep a list. Take your lunch to work. Be smart about coupons. Think your drink. Location, location, location doesn’t only apply to real estate. The class will present easy tips to shave hundreds of dollars from your grocery bills.
There is no cost for this course.

Crochet class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will present a crochet class through the Vandalia Campus. The class will be held on Fridays, Oct. 3-17, from 1-3 p.m.
The registration number for the class is LLI-7106-VA01D.
In this introduction to crochet, students will learn how to do the chain stitch as a basis for making different types of projects, along with crochet various stitches. The instructor will discuss yarns, die lots and types of hooks. Projects include a chained necklace and simple hat or scarf.
The cost is $30, but tudents over 60 may register at no cost.
Students will be given a supply list prior to the first class meeting. Students may bring their own supplies or the instructor will provide hooks and yarn at a cost of $10-15.

‘How to Buy and Sell on eBay”
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will present a “How to Buy and Sell on eBay” class through the Vandalia Campus on Wednesdays, Oct. 1-15, from 6:30-9 p.m.

Turn items from your attic and basement into cash using online auction sites. This fun, informative and hands-on class teaches you how to put your unwanted items up for sale on eBay. This course is designed for the beginner online auctioneer. The instructor will demonstrate how to post items on eBay.
Internet experience is required, and students need to bring e-mail address and password to access an email account.
The cost is $59.50, but students over 60 may register free of charge.
Healthy lifestyle class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education, in partnership with the University of Illinois Extension, will present a free “A Healthy Lifestyle that Lasts” class through the Vandalia Campus.
The class will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the U of I Extension office, located at 118 N Sixth St. in Vandalia.
The registration number for the class is COED-8097-VA01E.
This class is for people embarking on a healthier lifestyle. Participants can get updated on the latest dietary recommendations and how to make small changes over time.
They will learn how to arm themselves with the skills they need and find out the best behavioral strategies for making lasting changes in their health.

‘Extreme Couponing’ class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will present an “Extreme Couponing” class through the Vandalia Campus from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The registration number for the class is COED 8058 VA01W.
This course will educate students on how to find coupons and use them for savings.
Students will receive knowledge of the different types of coupon, including newspaper inserts, online coupons and digital coupons, and how to find coupons sales.
After the completion of the course, students will be able to successfully save money at grocery stores, restaurants and retail stores, and online.
The cost is $10, and students over 60 may register free of charge.  
Students may register through the Vandalia Campus by calling 283-1780 or the Office of Continuing/Community Education at Kaskaskia College at 545-3255. Space is limited, and all students must pre-register for this class.

Beginning beekeeping class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will present a beginning beekeeping class at the Vandalia Campus from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Beginning beekeeping is an introductory course designed to acquaint the students with basic beekeeping. It will provide information on how to begin this hobby and eventually develop it into a satisfying and possibly profitable endeavor
Students will be given a brief history and overview of the subject, along with the equipment and management practices necessary to be successful.

Students may register for these courses through the Vandalia Campus by calling 283-1780 or the Office of Continuing/Community Education at Kaskaskia College at 545-3255. Space is limited, and all students must pre-register for these classes.
