Larson graduates from truck driving program
Kaskaskia College has announced that several students have recently completed the truck driver training program. The certificate program is designed for individuals with no commercial driving experience, and includes commercial driver’s license learner’s permit preparation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Illinois Department of Transportation rules and regulations, log books, map reading, trip planning, routine vehicle maintenance, load securement and other information as necessary to prepare individuals for the Illinois Secretary of State-administered Class A road test and an entry level position in the trucking industry. The graduates included Harold Larson of Mulberry Grove.
Letters, Labels and Postcards
The Kaskaskia College Continuing/Community Education Department will offer a course entitled “Letters, Labels and Postcards” at the Vandalia Campus.
The class will be held on Thursday mornings, Nov. 29-Dec. 13, from 9-11:30 a.m. The registration number for this class is LLI 7022 VA01D.
Students will learn how to use the powerful merge feature in Word to create letters, labels, envelopes, and postcards. Students will become familiar with using the merge wizards, as well as setting up the merge function, fonts, formats and graphics to customize your labels, envelopes and postcards. They will also learn how to create their own data source/address book, or use an existing one.
Some computer experience is required to enroll in this course.
The cost for this course is $52; students over 60 may register at no cost.
