By Rich Bauer, Managing Editor

A judge announced at the close of a hearing in Fayette County Circuit Court on Friday that she hoped to issue a ruling in the St. Elmo election case by Monday.

The hearing was held on requests by aldermanic candidates Jayson Porter and Lloyd Carson to have a ruling by a St. Elmo electoral board overturned. That electoral board upheld objections to the two candidates' petitions filed by Rita Davis and Lyle Haslett.

Details will be given as the ruling is issued, and in next week's issue of The Leader-Union.
