The Rev. Casey and Flora Jones Sr. of Westmont, and formerly of Vandalia, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children on Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Westmont Centre.
Casey, son of the late James and Fannie Jones of Alabama,r and the former Flora Derrick, daughter of the late Sam and Sarah Derrick, also of Alabama, were married on Feb. 5, 1951, in Iuka, Miss.
The Joneses were the founding pastor and wife of The Church of Jesus Christ, Apostolic in Westmont in 1973 and served in that capacity until January 2004 when they installed the Rev. Casey and Lisa Jones as pastor and wife of First Pentecostal Church of Westmont.
They are the parents of four children: Calvin and his wife Pam Woolverton Jones of Dyersburg, Tenn., Charlotte and her husband the Rev. Michael Mills of Senatobia, Miss., the Rev. Casey Jr. and his wife Lisa Halsey Jones of Westmont, and Clinton Jones (stillborn) in 1968.
They have seven grandchildren: Jason and Muranda Jones, Andrew and his wife Danielle Mills, Heidi and her husband Heath Flowers, Benjamin Mills and Alexander Jones.
They have seven great-grandchildren: Salena, Demi, Carli, Maddox and Paisley Mills, and Nathaniel and Isaac Flowers.
They remember fondly their Vandalia First Pentecostal Church family and their many friends from Vandalia.
