Heavy Rains, Heavy Flooding
Large amounts of rain in a short period of time late last week caused what was probably the worst flooding in the area since 2004, when water over U.S. Route 51 south of Vandalia caused the highway to be closed for several days.
The photo above shows flooding in the area of Fourth and Jefferson streets.
