Health department sets moving schedule

The Fayette County Health Department has scheduled its move into its new home.
The work on the department’s new office complex, located at 416 W. Johnson St. in Vandalia, is nearing completion, and department employees will begin moving into the former Leo Brown Lumber building at the end of this month.
The FCHD home health and hospice departments, currently housed at 120 S. Fifth St. in Vandalia, will move into the new complex on Jan. 28.
All other departments, which operate out of the FCHD’s main facility at 509 W. Edwards St. in Vandalia, will relocate at the beginning of February. The last day for operations at the current home is Feb. 8.
All FCHD offices will be closed Feb. 9-11, as departments settle into their new home. The new complex will be open to the public on Monday, Feb. 14.
Office hours for the health department will remain the same, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. All FCHD phone numbers will also remain the same.
An open house for the new FCHD complex has been scheduled for 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8. More details will be given at a later date.
