Harvest Festival is Saturday

• Little Miss and Mister Harvest Pageant is at 11 a.m. at Fifth and Gallatin streets. It will feature 22 contestants, and new this year is a People’s Choice Award.
• More than 20 vendors will be set up, including ones with Miche purses, Pampered Chef and Initials Inc. items.
• Kids’ activities, including inflatables, face-painting and Paint the Car. The South Central Illinois Law Dogs will have an enclosed paintball target shooting trailer.
• The Vandalia Eagles Club will offer bingo from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the city parking lot between Liberty Trading and Burtschi Brothers.
• The Downtown Merchants Association will hold a cake walk, and Something Special Florist will be hosting a wine tasting.
• The National Road Interpretive Center will hold a 5K walk/run. Registration at the interpretive center, 106 S. Fifth St., begins at 8:30 a.m., and the walk/run begins at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $25, and the first five male and female finishers will receive awards.
• The National Road Road Association of Illinois will have its Conestoga Wagon on display.
