Golden Circle Menus

The Golden Circle Nutrition Program, located at 616 W. Jackson St., Vandalia provides meals in a comfortable setting to people 60 years and older and their spouses.
There are no income guidelines or any type of restrictions besides the age limit. Meals are prepared by Deb’s Catering of Altamont and delivered fresh daily.
The suggested donation is $3 for meals.
Call the site director, Deb Segrest, at 283-1040, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. the day before you wish to eat there. Meals are served at 11:30 a.m., Monday-Friday. All meals served with choice of milk, coffee, iced tea or water.
• Thursday, Aug. 9 – Pork burger on whole grain bun, four-bean salad, cold stewed tomatoes and melon medley. Jo Stine of the U of I Extension office will talk about healthy eating.
• Friday, Aug. 10 – Ham, hash brown casserole, succotash, five-cup salad and whole grain roll. Milton Smith will sing country, gospel and Elvis songs.
• Monday, Aug. 13 – Frilled chicken Caesar salad, mandarin oranges, fresh banana and garlic Parmesan bread stick.
• Tuesday, Aug. 14 – Pork chops, roasted red potatoes, butter beans, peaches and whole grain roll. Harold Swofford will sing country music.
