GED tests, fee changing

-A A +A

Individuals who began taking the GED® Test since Jan. 1, 2002, and have not yet passed all the tests must complete testing before Dec. 31, or current scores will no longer be valid.
Those who need to complete the test can call Regional Office of Education No. 3 at 283-5011 (Vandalia), 217-342-4363 (Effingham) or 664-0121 (Greenville), or visit the ROE No. 3 website, www.roe3.org, for more information,
Those individuals should also be aware that the cost to take the GED® test is increasing in 2014, from $50 to $120, and test requirements are changing.
Effective January 2014, the GED® will be completely computer based. The test will consist of four sub tests instead of five, and test-takers will be required to type rather than hand-write an essay.
For more information, call one of the ROE No. 3 offices.
