St. Peter Auxiliary
The St. Peter American Legion Auxiliary held its meeting at the Legion Home on June 21 at 7:30 p.m., with 12 members present.

President Patti Taylor welcomed everyone. The meeting opened with prayer by the chaplain and the singing of the national anthem. The pledge to the flag was given and all recited the Preamble to the Constitution.
The secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting and also gave the treasurer’s report. Both were approved.
The donation for the tray favors to Marion VA Hospital has also been paid.
A discussion was held about the new flag pole that the Legion is getting, and it was decided to donate to that project.
A June birthday for Violet Rubin was observed, but she was not present. The refreshments were compliments of Mary Harpster and Ann Jenne, assisted by Olga Michel in the absence of Harpster.
After adjournment, members talked about the Memorial Day service in the park by the Sons of the Legion.
Since there was no speaker, John Taylor led the group in singing some patriotic songs. Myron Pontious, Legion commander, placed the wreath in front of the crosses, with the flag gently blowing in the breeze.
