Shopping Trip
Belinda Harpster and daughter, Mahala Jacquin, both of St. Peter, went to Paducah, Ky., on Saturday to Christmas shop. Mahala and Harper spent the night with Dane and Belinda on Friday. Nathan spent the week in Florida at the PGA training session.
Nursing School Graduate
Andria (Urban) Cavaletto of Walnut Hill was one of 22 graduates of the Kaskaskia College associate degree nursing program. The 30th annual December pinning ceremony was held on Thursday, Dec. 8, in the Jane Knight Auditorium on the Centralia campus on Kaskaskia College. In addition to receiving her degree, Andria was the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Clinical Performance Award for the class of 2016.
Guests who attended the ceremony on behalf of Andria were John and Jonathan Cavaletto of Walnut Hill; State Rep. John and Connie Cavaletto, and Jason Cavaletto, all of Salem; Keri Latin of Chase, Mich.; and Earl Magnus, Kyle, Dawn and Olivia Urban, as well as Larry and Sue Urban, all of St. Peter.  Following the ceremony, the group went to Fairways Restaurant at Greenview Golf Course in Centralia for a meal and socializing.
Death
Clyde King, 88, of St. Peter, died on Thursday, Dec. 8, at his home. The funeral was held on Tuesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Clyde was the retired owner of King’s Garage in St. Peter.

The organist was Rita Yagow.
