St. Peter Auxiliary
The St. Peter American Legion Post #380 and the Auxiliary met on March 16 at 6:30 p.m. for their annual birthday supper.
This being the 90th anniversary of the American Legion, the tables were decorated for the occasion. Thanks to Patti Taylor, each place had a cookie with the  number 90 inscribed on it.
Olga Michel, auxiliary chaplain, gave the opening prayer, and the meal was prepared by Ellen’s Family Dining. The desserts were compliments of Kelly Taylor, Patti Taylor and Arline Wheeler.
After the meal, John Taylor gave a reading about re-incarnation.
The guest was Mary Shulze from Kaskaskia College. She spoke of the many things available that might be of interest to veterans and seniors. They then went into separate sessions.
The auxiliary had five guests and were welcomed by the president. The usual rituals were done, and the secretary and treasurer reports were given and approved. The blood drive was a success – 25 units of blood were collected.
No date has been set, but plans are being made to participate in the city-wide yard sales. The men are doing some interior painting and solicited help from the auxiliary.
Birthdays for March were recognized for Violet Chrisman, Gert Garrett, Beaty Grandt, Shirley Mattes, Patti Taylor  and Arline Wheeler.
The evening adjourned with prayer for pace by the chaplain.
