A free senior Health and Information seminar will be held this Tuesday at the Moose Lodge in Vandalia.
Its a great opportunity to learn about and get information on a variety of programs for seniors including prescription drugs, insurance programs, veterans benefits and more, said Watson (R-Greenville).
Free information brochures and health screenings will also be available, according to Senator Watson.
We hear a lot of discussion these days about the high cost of health care, and rightly so, said Watson. However, prevention knowing ahead of time about potential health problems can go a long way toward solving the long-term health problems an individual might have. These health fairs provide a very important opportunity for seniors to learn about the status of their health.
In addition to the health information, the offices of Illinois Attorney General and State Treasurer will be on hand to talk about consumer fraud issues and check for unclaimed assets. Representatives of the Citizens Utility Board will also attend.
The senior Health and Information seminar will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Moose Hall at 328 S. 3rd Street. Refreshments will be served.
