Flora wins fourth Vandal Shootout tourney title

Flora won the championship of the fourth Vandal Shootout tournament last week.
Flora, which defeated Red Bud in semifinal play, won the championship by defeating Harrisburg, which advanced by beating Pinckneyville in the other semifinal contest.
In the opening round of the tournament, Vandalia defeated Central A&M. Other winners were Illini Central (over Cumberland), Harrisburg (over Edwards County), Flora (over Eldorado) and Putnam County (over St. Elmo).
Red Bud defeated the Vandals in the second round, Massac County beat North Greene, Pinckneyville beat Cerro Gordo, and Fairfield topped Paris.
In the third round, Red Bud beat Massac County, Flora beat Putnam County, Pinckneyville defeated Illini Central and Harrisburg beat Fairfield.
