The first three finalists have been chosen for the “Vandalia Idol” contest sponsored by Soroptimist International of Vandalia.
On Saturday night, 11 contestants competed for three finalist positions.
Fourteen more contestants will compete this Saturday for the remaining three finalists positions.
The three finalists from the competition on Saturday are: Jordan Boren, who sang “Jesus Take The Wheel;" Ravyn Gauch, who sang “Last Name:" and Donna Klitzsch, who sang “The More I Seek You.”
The judges were Neil Clark, Nancy Childress and Catherine Burge.
Each winner received a “Golden Ticket” for entry into the finale and a $50 savings bond, courtesy of Country Financial.
The public is invited to attend the second night of competition, at 6 p.m. this Saturday, as well as the finale to be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 18. Both will be held at First Baptist Church in Vandalia. Admission is $3 per seat.
The winner will receive $500, and the runner-up will win $100 for their efforts.
The audience will be able to vote for a “People’s Choice Award” from among the six finalists during the finale.
