The Vandalia Field of Dreams committee and the Vandalia Park District last Thursday came to an agreement on renovating the backstop at the high school softball field, and made concrete agreements on several other issues at the park district meeting.
Despite claims from the park district board that the chain-link fence backstop is “in too good of shape” to tear down, the Field of Dreams committee gained permission to remove the fencing to build a brick backstop, and the park board also gave a $3,000 contribution to the project.
